The Hundred Years' War was a highly complex conflict in terms of its duration, the many players involved and the succession of wars and truces over a very long period of 116 years!
Chevauchee, pitched battles, sieges, ambushes, looting, assassinations and betrayals were all part of the story. So it was a challenge to simulate this complex, non-linear war. Few games exist on this subject. We chose to design the game on a strategic scale, while maintaining its excellent playability.
La Guerre de Cent Ans ("The Hundred Years' War") is designed for 2 to 4 players: with 4, each player takes control of one faction; with 2, each player takes control of both factions on the same side; with 3, one player takes control of both factions on one side, while the remaining players each take control of one faction on the other side.
